TEDx Committee

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.”

Events

The TEDx Committee of IIM Trichy hosts the flagship event, TEDxIIMTrichy, annually under a license from TED Conferences, LLC. As a local, self-organised event, TEDxIIMTrichy uncovers unique voices and perspectives in the local community while bringing the attendees a TED-like experience. In the past editions, eight speakers from diverse fields have shared their stories at the event, including Mr. Ganesh Balakrishnan (Founder, Flatheads), Ms. Regina Cassandra (Actress), Mr. Vipul Singh (Founder, Tapas Foundation) and Ms. Preethi Ramadoss (Scientist), and many others.
Over and above the flagship event, the TEDx Committee also hosts Xperience, an intra-collegiate community engagement event that is aimed at celebrating ideas and sparking conversations. Idea Generator, which is a part of Xperience, gives the students a chance to give a mini-TED talk and share their ideas with their peers.
The Committee has an active social media presence where it engages over 1.5K followers on Instagram and other platforms. The videos of the talks have been uploaded to the TED library of talks with over 7 million views.
